SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE
In order to reduce the ecological footprint of EPIC and to contribute to positive social and economic development in the Dubai region, EPIC is organized in accordance with a sustainable meeting strategy, which we have coined the EPIC Sustainability Initiative.
Objectives of the Sustainability Initiative
The EPIC Sustainability Initiative is a framework of management practices and procedures that guide the planning of the expo and ensure that decisions related to the event are made according to sound principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability.
The objectives of this initiative are to:
- Reduce the consumption of resources and the generation of wastes and pollution;
- Ensure the environmental impacts associated with the services and products procured for EPIC are minimized and opportunities for promoting positive social and economic development are maximized to the greatest extent possible; and
- Actively engage all involved with EPIC through promotions and communications in contributing to overall event sustainability.
To achieve these objectives, the EPIC Sustainability Initiative is structured to ensure that our internal operations, marketing and purchasing are conducted in accordance with best practices in sustainable development.
